Brakes Squeak when not in use

Have a 2007 Silverado z71. Lately, there has been some squeaking (sounds a bit like a chatter) from the front passenger wheel well. As soon as I tap the brakes, the chatter goes away. Sometimes the squeak goes away on its own and other times it's uber loud. Anyone else had symptoms like this?

For the record... not sure if it's related or not; There was a couple teaspoons of grease in my wheel well but the inside of the wheel looks clean.

check the front brake pads..this is usually the wear indicators..

grease in the wheel well could be the hub bearing seal leaking the grease. could also be a torn cv joint boot..
