97 Bravada won't start

I was driving my Bravada the other day and everything seemed normal. When I went to pass someone I lightly applied throttle and the engine lost all power. I shifted into neutral and it died very quickly after that. I tried to restart the engine and it did start but ran very rough for a few seconds and then died and would not restart. I got the vehicle towed home and started checking things. All the fuses are good, I have 58 psi at the shrader valve for fuel pressure, and I can hear the pump come on. I talked to a mechanic I know through work and he recommended that I replace the spider injectors to the upgraded style, and that it was probably my problem. I just finished getting everything back together and the vehicle still won't start. I have even tried to spray starting fluid (just a little) and it won't even cough. I have checked for spark and I have a bluish white spark from the coil and at the spark plugs, and the cap and rotor button were just recently replaced. If it helps diagnose it I also recently replaced the lower intake manifold gaskets as they were leaking. I need help with this because I am supposed to leave for a wedding tomorrow at noon and can't leave unless I get this thing running. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Are you getting good spark to all plugs?

Will it fire up with a shot of carb cleaner?

If so Work on fuel delivery.

A CSI injector system needs 60/66 lbs of fuel pressure with 64-65 lbs cold start cranking pressure.

Specs on a SFI system needs around 60lbs cold start.
Specs on SFI are 56/62 lbs.

What is your engine cranking fuel pressure?

Re: 97 Bravada won't start

The cranking pressure is 58 psi and I went a little further and can verify that I have no injector pulse. I do however have power to the injectors with the key on. I do no have any check engine codes either.

How are you testing for injector pulse?

Re: 97 Bravada won't start

I am getting spark to all the plugs, bluish white spark. I tested for pulses at the connector to the spider injector using a test light and got no flashes not even dim. I connected one end of the test light to the yellow wire with the black stripe and the other end to several of the pink wires and each one is not getting a signal. I also don't smell any fuel even when cranking so I'm pretty sure the injectors are not opening up.

Injector pulse is a ground plules.
Test light does not work good for a injector pluse tester.
Use a injector noid test light.

If no injector pulse and you have spark the VCM is dead or bad wiring.

Re: 97 Bravada won't start

Besides VCM being bad or not getting RPM pulse or good engine sensor signals and shutting down injector pulse.

The anti theft system or remote start or add on anti theft can also shut down injectors pulse.

Confirm no add on stuff and that the security system is not shutting off pulse.

Even if computer is shutting off injector pulse it should fire on a squirt of carb cleaner.
If not that problem should be fixed first.

Any security system light staying on?
Does your key have the pellet built into it?
Any add on anti theft or remote starts?
Key on engine first crank over do you get a 2 second injector pulse?
