94 grand cherokee 5.2 tranny/no reverse
Just bought 94 gc 5.2 14 bolt all time 4/wd and reverse would work with no exceleration,just creep back. Now no reverse at all. The guy I bought it from has the front axel out to save on gas he said. thanks in advance.175,000 miles

I would install the front driveline. If it is AWD or ALL TIME 4x4. Then it has to be in lock to move. First install the front driveline. I'm assuming that is what he took out.

The full time system uses the "viscous coupler" in the TC (transfer case) to move torque to the front axle. A lot of folks just remove the front driveshaft when their VC goes bad, usually at 90-100k miles.
Check your fluid level first, make sure it's where it's supposed to be. A fluid change (dropping pan, new filter and refill) could also make a difference. However it could mean it's rebuild time for the transmission, especially if it has seen a lot of city driving.
