1999 Legacy Troubles.

Hey guys need some help with my 99 legacy.

Was running great before then engine went out , replaced the engine with a exchange engine with 70k on it. ( 2.2L ) anywho now the car won't stay running for longer than 10 seconds and my CEL is going haywire but I only have one code for a VSS.

Any thoughts ?

I don't think the VSS code is of major consequence because that is usually a wheel bearing or hub assembly or speed sensor. If the vehicle isn't running longer than 10 secs, then you'll need to check the fuel pressure or parts along those lines. Did you try spraying carb cleaner into the throttle body to see if it runs longer than the 10 secs? If you keep it going by spraying into there, then it is a fuel issue, possibly fuel pump or other part thereof. You can also try this link to help...

Had the dealer diagnose the car. Shorted out MAF and a stuck IAC motor.
