Ignition questions
Is the ignition crankfired?
If so, how many magnets and what degree are the mounted relitive to TDC? Thanks |

Ummm......
The ignitions in 1G DSM's are driven by a Cam angle sensor, the ECU uses that signal to determine piston positions and sends the spark signals accorginly. In 2G's there are two sensors, a Cam angle sensor and a Crank angle sensor. I guess if this answers your question, the crank angle sensor is mounted at mabey a 45 degree angle from TDC. Peace
