Countach Dimensions

Hi All,

It seems that everywhere I look, the width quoted for a Countach is different!!

Can someone - preferably with an original handbook - tell me how wide a 25th Anniversary Countach is? Ideally I'd like to know how wide it is with the mirrors in their normal position, and with the mirrors folded.

It's all a question of whether or not I'll be able to get one through my garage door!!

the width reported in Lambocars.com is 2 meters (78.7 inches). I'm not certain, but I think it is without the mirrors. Maybe Mark Smeyers of Lambocars or a 25th owner may help you more.

the width of the Countach is 200 cm without the mirrors, or with the mirrors in the upright position, the width at the rear wheel arches is 200 cm from the LP400 S model on and remained this right until the 25th Anniversary.

I don't have an exact measurement for the mirrors, but I would say they add another 10 to 15 cm when in their normal driving position.

The QV handbook quotes the width as 2000mm. It doesn't say what part of the car this is measured over, but I imagine this would be the widest point, which would be the mirrors.

Laban's book on the Countach also quotes 2000mm, and from the accompanying diagram, it looks as if he is quoting this for across the mirrors in their normal position.

Dron's book also quotes 2000mm.

If the gap in your garage door is less than 7 foot, it's going to be very tight. I wish you luck, 'cos if you have to reverse the thing with the mirrors folded in to fit, you're going to need it.

I'm buying a house with a double garage at the moment, but it's a 2 separate doors double - don't know why they do that?!

The issue is whether or not I need to spend the cash to have it converted to a single wide door - which as you can imagine will cost a few quid.

If anyone can quote me the figures from a 25th handbook - that would seem like the definitive answer!!

To the best of my knowledge, the Anniversary is identical, dimensionally, to the QV. The only changes they made between the two models was cosmetic.

Converting a double door into a single door may be a pain in the short term, but you will never look back once you have had it done. I don't think I would be happy trying to squeeze my QV through a single door, especially when it will have to be in reverse 50% of the time.
