2. Defective engine-mounted fuel pump. Common problem when there's gasoline in the engine oil. Usually also means that the fuel delivery to the carb is poor, leading to poor power, stalling, TERRIBLE fuel mileage, etc. Depending on the severity of the fuel pump defect, you may see fuel spitting out of the vent hole in the fuel pump; often it washes away the dirt on the frame/crossmember and so part of the evidence that the pump has shit the bed is a CLEAN spot on the frame aligned more-or-less with the fuel pump vent hole.

Ten trillion to start with, increasing as needed from there, PLUS compensation for the sickened, and "wrongful death" settlements for the families of those who didn't survive. END trade with Communist China. |

I suspect if the engine is not blowing out black smoke when running it is the fuel pump..remove pump and inspect .... alcohol in gasoline and these old vehicles is big trouble with the rubber fuel components and the steel tanks..the carb filters need lots of replacing.. |
