Question 1994 Dodge Dakota Help???

I have a 94 Dodge Dakota Extended cab 3.9L V6 4x4..

The truck is shutting off while driving. I changed the crank sensor, mass air flow, tps, fuel/air sensor, distributor cap, plugs and wires. I figured out that nothing needed changing but the crank sensor (the one taken out was glued together).

My boyfriend took the truck and she shut down again. He had a friend with him so while his friend whined over the truck my boyfriend was able to determine that she had no fire and the fuel nozzle under the breather had no fuel coming out.

After sitting for a few minutes he shook the back of the truck and she started up no problem.

It looks like it has something to do with the automatic shut down relay....

What would cause this relay to cut in and shut the truck down but then start again in a few minutes or a few hours????? Is the fuse bad or could it be something else?

I am at my wits end with this truck.... and ready to stick a for sale sign on it..

Thanks for any help
Samantha

Has a safety feature built in , could be low on oil or the oil pressure sensor is reading low , it will ether shut down the ignition killing the fuel pump and or spark

Re: 1994 Dodge Dakota Help???

I had an oil change done last month and checked the oil on Monday and it is still good. I don't know where to find the oil pressure sensor.... but the oil pressure gauge on the dash is operating at mid point between high and low.

do a wire test . while its running start moving wires around , under the hood and under the dash and even under the truck to see if you can get it to stall , have you replaced any of the relays ?

We will check the wires tomorrow.

But why would the computer tell the relay to shut down?
