Rally collection - Evo6, Peugeot 206, Toyota Celica

Peugeot 206 WRC SG Silver Team

This is based on the original Tamiya kit. When I saw pictures of the test car for the Peugeot Portugal team I knew I had to get that schema. Fortunately Renaissance created the 2000 Portugal decal sheet but since the car was based on the 1999 Peugeot test car some changes were made by then.

Many thanks goes out to whoever helped me by printing off the Esso decal. I believe it was someone on the old Yahoo RCMG forum. Hope you received your candies in return!

mods
- rear wing (combo of old wing + plastic card)
- exhaust pipe
- Renaissance 6 spoke rims
- filling in all the gaps in the front hood/bumper/roof
- couple extra decals and small bits
- side mirrors donated from a Focus kit
- little bits here and there

Here's some photos of the real thing. Notice the color of the seats, I've never seen those before.

Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 6

Tamiya Lancer with Renaissance rims and decals. The original kit was a gravel edition and I didn't lower it enough for the tarmac spec (remember kids - test fit everything!). I clipped off all the fasteners to make it sit as low as possible. As a result nothing is holding the body on. I also had a light smash this into a few pieces after completion and managed to nurse it back to health. About as good as it's gonna get.

Toyota Celica 1993

Straight build of the Tamiya kit with Hasegawa decals and a couple of photo-etch extras. This was my first rally car after about 15 years of building everything else. Only about 25 more to go in the collection (so far)!

Very nice build.
Never seen this livery before, but it sure looks good.

Although the rearwing looks a bit oversized compared to the real car. But that's just a minor niggle.

Thanks. Not sure why the other posts aren't showing up. I hope to add an Escort to the WIP section soon.

Hi!

About the Lancer... I have the same kit, and if I'm not wrong, you have the pieces to build it on Tarmac Spec, I'm doing it!! Very strange...

Re: Rally collection - Evo6, Peugeot 206, Toyota Celica

Hi Vlad,
I can't remember exactly what I did or didn't do. The base kit was the Evo 6 New Zealand "Tommi" car which was a gravel rally. Indeed there were parts for both (based on the Evo 5 pressing I guess). Maybe I didn't use all the parts I was supposed to, or the chassis was different. If you have the Evo 5 you can compare the two kits. Just test fit like I should have done!

Yes, you have pieces for both specs. Maybe following the instructions you pick the gravel pieces. The only thing the kit doenĄs have are the tarmac rubbers.
