Interiors

Hey all. I seldom post on here. Apologies for that. Was wondering on your views on the best F1 interiors? Once you get to looking there are considerable differences what with more or less carbon, coloured harnesses, dial colours, steering wheels etc.

As a luddite I struggle to post picture but doubtless you will all be able to!

By the way, does XP5 still have the greenish leather on the drivers seat? Remember that leaping out at me in the CAR magazine road test all those years ago!

Re: Interiors

I don't have pictures to hand but the car in Japan referred to as either #029/#039 has a lovely interior, but then it also has a lovely exterior as well.

Re: Interiors

Best interior? IMO its this one, chassis #029

If you need a hand with pic posting, PM me and I'll guide you through it

Some owners have uprated the interiors on their car; most change the interior when they buy it to make it more to their taste; some have more carbon some have up to date 'electronic toys'; some keep it to the bare essentials; some of the owners who bought them new have kept them the same. There are variations in steering wheel, harnesses, seats, dials, plaques, trim finishes, etc etc

Re: Interiors

#011 is one of my least favourite, #007 is up among the best, but practically would be no good

Re: Interiors

I suppose the cars fall into 2 categories, GT and sports car in terms of interior, if that dosn't sound silly.

I think 007 and 011 both are GT type. I'd be more in the sports car type camp. I think 040 as was was pretty good and sounds like it may get even better. Also 069 was pretty nice also.

Re: Interiors

Lovely, has 069 always has it's unusual passenger seat set up?

Also, is 040 the most 'carboned' interior?

Pardon my ignorance, but could you tell me which ones of the above are the 069 and the 040, so that I can see what is unusual on the passenger seat?!?

Thanks!

BTW, that all black interior is really nice!

Re: Interiors

The three photos in post #8 all show chassis #069.

There were no photos of #040's interior in this thread yet. Recently flemke mentioned that he's removed the carbon panels from the doors, having had the originals redone in leather instead. Earlier it looked like this:

Ignore the steering wheel - it was just a test piece. If we are really lucky then maybe once he's got the car back and sorted things out he'll hook up with someone like GFWilliams for a comprehensive photoshoot.

Surprised no one has mentioned #014's new interior here yet. I think it's one of the best for combining all the good bits of an LM into a road car.

I also agree that #029's interior shown above is perhaps my favorite right now.

Thanks for your clarification (I am still learning the numbers )
The LM handbrake is just gorgeous!

Yes, now I can see the passenger seats treatment, do not how it compares with the original seats in terms of comfort.
An intriguing thing is that I do not see any head rest for the passengers?

Re: Interiors

I think the seats are sculpted so deep so as to negate the need for a 'headrest' - it is incorporated into the seat itself,
