cleaning silver wheels
I got some silver wheels and I need to know what I can use to scrube them? I used a brillo pad on the back side and it scracthed the shit outta them. please help what a good scrubbing tool

Don't scrubb anything. Go to Advance, Autozone, etc and get some of that Eagle One cleaner. It is the one in the orange bottle. It works. My wheels were nasty on the inside and I used this stuff. It works wonders.

Just use car wash soap and a rag. That's the best and safest way. Some wheel cleaners can eat away at the clear coat of your wheels.

What's up TheNotoriousMogg,
I'm sorry you had the experience you did w/your rims...I hope they weren't expensive 'cause I'd be pissed at myself big time... Anyhow...no worries...what's done is done...just learn the lesson and don't do it again...not on your rims of any other "metal, plastic, ....let's just say don't use brillo on anything except for your baked on greasy dishes... I had a set of RH M7000's and like the above reader/posted said, soap and water should do the job but you have to make it ritual...you can't just clean them once a month....Like jackassi was pointing out...brake dust will cake on the rim and eat through the clearcoat and eventually your rim will begin to decompose... I personally didn't like the Eagle One rim cleaner...it almost seemed to either leave a resin-type film on my rims or it was eating into my clear coat (and I wasn't putting it on while the rim was hot, didn't leave it on to sit, or anything liek that). I would just use a mild dish detergent such as Palmolive(R) (softens hand while cleaning rims...  ) ...and that should be fine....Just remember...keep your ride clean...don't use crazy chemicals that you don't know anything about...keep asking questions...and enjoy your ride!
