Williams FW16
Here's my first wip on AF. I've decided to do a wip on the Williams Fw 16 from Model factory hiro. This is my first multi media kit I'll be attempting, and it is a full detail kit so progress will be a little slow. I will be attempting to add some more details as i progress through this, with CF decals and a heap of detail nuts that I have aquired from ,Scale motorsports, scale hardware, and rb motion. As well as some extra wiring not in the kit.I shall start with the customry pics of the bits and pieces in the box. As you will also see i have made a start on some painting and CF work. At present Iam drilling out for the bolts in the heads and the exhaust manifold.

Re: Williams FW16
Hi Wayne,
nice subject and a great kit to start out with. MFH have great detail and supply almost everything you need. I must admit I have only ever looked in other peoples boxes as the cost prohibits me from buying. I am still kicking myself for missing a MFH Aston DB4GT on ebay, BIN for £140, the closest I'll ever get I think. Looks like you are off to a good start and the extras you are adding should make this model a stunner. Regards, Steve. |

Re: Williams FW16
Thanks Rob. A small update .I have re carboned the plates on the heads,re painted the block ,drilled holes and added detail bolts on the heads and exhaust flanges. Started to add engine wiring. And made the exhausts a bit more detailed.I flattened some small solder wire to simulate joins and used smaller wire for weld seams. They were painted aluminium metalizer, then some burnt metal, buffed and some blue heat staining. Also added very small brackets a couple of bolts and the wire sensor cable.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() From here I made a scratch throttle cable ![]() and added a few more wires. ![]() ![]() Thanks.Regards Wayne |

Re: Williams FW16
I have made more progress. I dressed up the fuel rail a bit from this
![]() to this ![]() ![]() I have put the rear end together along with some carbon work, extra details and a bit of wiring.I wanted to dress up the rear suspension /pivot arms a little. It was a big decision to cut the piece up but it turned out alright. ![]() ![]() ![]() From here I moved onto detailing the brakes. I drilled out and inserted some nut & stud bolts the one on the left has been detailed. Bit hard to see the difference in pic but worth it in real life ![]() The calipers received some bleed nipples and a balance pipe with some detail nuts. ![]() I also wanted to give the front suspension some extra details.Once again it was a hard decision to cut these white metal pieces and play around with them. Its taken a while to get right and I have only made one side. So here is a couple of pics and a mock up shot. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I also have the engine and trans mounted : ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks for looking |

Re: Williams FW16
This detail is amazing Vassa. Good to see you back on here, could this be a QMHE best in show contender when done?

Re: Williams FW16
Thanks for the comments guys. Some small progress. I've been detailing away with the steering wheel, dash, seat, sidepods and associated parts.I removed the moulded buttons on the steering wheel and replaced, the same was done for the dash with some CF work
![]() ![]() ![]() Not sure whether to change the buckles on the seat belt for other style?? The parts that go on the sidepods were a liitle bit bare ![]() ![]() so I decided to dress them up a little with what reference I have and with more CF. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() These all will have wires attached later. Thanks for looking. Regards Wayne |
