Gaia paints

Hi guys,

I saw on a tutorial on YouTube that they where using gaia color paints. Does anybody know what type of paint this is? I'm just curious about the paint.

Re: Gaia paints

I have change most of my Gunze paint to Gaia notes.

But I have to say is Gaianotes paint are more rich, but their cobalt blue is soft pastel look, but I love their star bright silver, gun metal, gold, red and clear black (smoke). All their clear color is very good. Color mixing ratio will be slightly different as the paint is alot more thicker.

Thanks guys for the great information. I have 1 final question. What kind of thinner can you use for this(Mr Color or gaia)?

Re: Gaia paints

You can use any of them, but, as a general rule of thumbs...stick to the same brand thinner for best compability. They even has a special metalics thinner(T-09) that disolves the meatlic particles in the paint for a better even surface. You guys can see it working here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fXRKepVpNNQ

http://www.gaianotes.com/products/g-color_t09.html

This particular thinner from Gaianotes de-bonds tiny chunk of metallic substance into even smaller particles that the ordinary thinners can't, allowing the metallic particles to lay down more evenly and smoothly than usual.

The 1:33 in the video is showing this de-bonding process, which takes approximately 10 minutes. The Gaianotes website says that you add thinner a bit more than usual, use relatively lower pressure, and gentry spray a few thin coats.
