Help with GTS Water Pump

Hello All,

I'm hoping that someone can help me source a high quality water pump for my 2001 GTS (351W).

I bought an aftermarket Edelbrock pump for this motor, but the spacing & bolt pattern are off just enough to make it unusable. The casting number on the current pump is E9AE-8505-BA, which is off a 90-91 Crown Vic.

Any ideas when I might be able to find a better quality pump than OEM ford?

Thanks,

Mark

Re: Help with GTS Water Pump

Have look in the Ford Racing catalogue as well. Just been down this track with 369 cube 5.0 for my Panoz and ended up with a Ford Racing pump. Trick is to get pump on its own as Ford Racing seem to ry and sell them with front covers as a compete assembly. Prices also vary widely between Ford Racing distributors so shop around.

Re: Help with GTS Water Pump

The OE is fine. We just get them from Ford (new not rebuilt) or Panoz. I change them every 1-2 race seasons. Also keep one in spare along with: alternator, PS pump and everything else that can break!!

I've never had a waterpump fail BTW, but they are cheap and easy to replace.

Re: Help with GTS Water Pump

Hello All -

Thanks for your help - this is great.

The Motorsports part number is M-8501-G351. The OE part number is FOAZ-8501-A.

The Motorsports pump is actually cheaper than OE.

Thanks again,

Mark
