windshield wipers

2001 winstar i think i have replaced the moter once a yr for the last three yrs.last time i replaced the electical connecter as it was rusted and corroaded. but here i am agaign replacing again . any thoughts?

Hi, jstride.

I have replaced mine twice as well in 2007. When it rains, water would go and rust up everything just under there, including the wiper motor. If I am not mistaken this is a very common to happen.

After replacing it the 2nd time I used clear silicone caulk (for house windows) and caulked where the cowl meets the windshield. Just a thin layer.

Yeah, I have to cut and scrape when I have to take the cowl off for anything else but I have not replaced the wiper motor since 2007. And I think doing this kinda saved my PCM as well.
