Head problems

Ok so my car is going through coolant like crazy. i have to put in about half a gallon every 20 miles. so i take the head off and remove the gasket. i take the head in to get it milled. the guy turns it over and says its already been milled. he guesses that if he mills it anymore it will be over spec and cause more problems. Is this guy full of it? He said he guesses its been milled 12 thousandths and that the mais 16 thousandths. he said its warped by 8 thousandths so he has to mill it another 10 thousandths which will total 22 thousandths. Mill it again ? or get a new head? I need to know quick so i can drive it. Thanks for the help.

well, obviously its not gonna be good if you over spec the head, you will just cause new problems for yourself.

with this oppurtunity, you can go do a "mini-me" swap on your car for some added fun.

well ive talked to several people who say theyve milled it further. and it was mostly a question of is this really spec. one guy said hes gone 25 thousandths and another guy 40 thousandths. both with no problems. those are the only two numbers but others have said theyve gone over without problems.
