01 3.8L stalls when starting cold
Had a problem with the 01 Deathstar stalling in the morning once or twice, before it would idle correctly. Only would happen first thing in the morning, or late afternoon if the car had been parked for several hours.
I have cleaned the IAC Idle Air Control before, but I guess the gunk built up and it lost its lubrication as well. I took the thing off, soaked it in PB Blaster, and then scraped the carbon off where I could. Put it back on and BINGO instant fix... $0.00. victory. |

Re: 01 3.8L stalls when starting cold
Those are the fixes that I LOVE, cheap and easy.

Re: 01 3.8L stalls when starting cold
spoke too soon.
Cleaning helped for a couple days, then it started to stall, better but still stall. I am going to buy a new one at Autozoo for $58 bucks tomorrow, and just be done with it. |
