Jada 2005 Ford GT

Hi everyone out there in af!Im Rikmun.Im from Malaysia.17 this year.I have been following these plastic model kits for sometime and I havent tried one yet.All these while I mainly focus on customizing 1:64 Hotwheels miniatures.I actually decided to start on a easy one end of this year after my exams.But my uncle recently just bought me one.A Jada 2005 Ford GT.(I dont even know Jada produce plastic model kits).So I think...Why not?...So there I started of with plastic model kits.This is my first ever 1:24 Plastic Model Kits.Comments and critics welcome!

This is the Box


From what I've learnt here,sanding off mould lines are quite important in making plastic models


The wheels

The brakes.I painted the calipers red and discs silver and detailed them



Chassis and Suspensions

Paint them flat black

The rear bumper(I dont know what those defects called when its removed from the plastic sprue)


sand them off

Dry fitting
The engine block


Paint the bodywork primer grey and white again as base colour as I decided to make it red.So the red will looks more striking with white base.

Steering wheel.Paint it flat black and detail with silver pen

And now,The Interior done and engine bay done sticked on the chassis.Still have some minor details not done yet.




The wheels and Brakes


And now,Mask the mirror and paint it flat black

Thats what I did in two days time.The body is now painted few layers of red and now decaled.I'll put on clear tomorrow and dry for a few days and try to polish it

nice work and not too bad kit, but wheels are really oversized !!!

I don't even know a brand called Jada, but the built is good! Keep up the good work!

Jada is known for its diecast tuned cars range...
I saw a kit on Ebay given for a jada branded one, but that's the first time I see one being build.
is there any other cars in the kits line, do someone know ?
The ford GT is precisely the one inetresting me but maybe there would be other interesting ones...

Nice work you are doing Rikmun...i also didnt know that JADA made model kits, but i check at their web site and they have four model kits

The only thing that i dont like are the wheels...they toooo big, but the other things looks great right?

Update on the stripes and interior.
They gave me waterslide stripes but I am not quite satisfied with it.So I masked and sprayed.except for the side stripes which have the wordings 'Ford GT'.And I also added some other water slide decals by myself.

And for the interior,I added 4-point seatbelts by using masking tape sprayed in red and 'silver parts'.


Thats all.Wait for completely dried and will spray clear coat on it.

For those unfamiliar with the Jada kits, I have a couple of them and they are really good. They were selling them at Michaels for ages. They are from the Big Time Muscle series, hence the ludicrously over-sized wheels. I saw one completed at NNL West today and it looked very good. An interesting thing about them is the plastic, it is very hard and doesn't seem to take the normal glue very well, smells a bit strange too when you sand it, some sort of resin in it perhaps. It does glue up, but the joints feel a bit weak, but no biggie if you do it right.
