2008 Infiniti G35 vs. 2008 BMW 328i (both sedans)

So I'm selling my 2003 G35 sedan. It's time to upgrade and I'm having a hard time deciding on what to get...


There's the 2008 Infiniti g35 with the navigation, heated seats, fogs, and 306-hp engine.

I love my car now, it's got speed and agility that I can't get enough of. I've driven the 2008 G35 too and it handles and drives even better. I like the new styling of the hood and body much better than the 2003 too.

Then there the 2008 BMW 328i with a very limited amount of options. It has auto-rain sensing wipers, 6-speed auto transmission, and a whopping 230hp. I like the BMW because the same year for the same price as the G35 and I can get one that is BMW Certified pre-owned for 6-years 100,000 miles. The Infiniti warranty on the 2008's is nearing it's end date.

So I know I'm asking this on an BMW message board so I'm asking for biased responses but I'm hoping some of the car fanatics here can give me some pointers.


I'm looking to spend around $25,000.

I'll admit I'm partial to Infiniti beacuse my very first car was a 1993 Infiniti G20 (the baby cousin of your car) and I LOVED that car with all my being. That said...

I'd be wary of the BMW - while they are nice cars, they are EXPENSIVE to maintain. I know Infiniti isn't cheap, but at least certain models share bits and pieces with their Nissan cousins, which makes them at least a little bit less pricey.

I don't know if it would make any difference, but the BMW will be a bit smaller so you'd lose out on a little bit of space. Not to mention that you're losing 2 doors (according to the comparison shown). I'm fortunate to have a coupe and a 4-door, but I can't even start to explain how much more "life-friendly" having 2 extra doors is. Parking is easier because the doors aren't as wide, riding passengers is easier because they're not crawling in and out, handling cargo of any kind is easier because you can use the back seat instead of dealing with the trunk, etc.
