civic questions for newbie
what do i do for pistons, cams, cam gears, and headers for a ZC in a civic? i was thinkin D series pistons, D series gears and D series headers.. but what about cams???

Actually, the D-series cam gears will not work. You have to get B-series gears for the ZC and have them milled down by a machine shop, since they're too thick. D series headers will work, although the ports do not line up exactly, but can be easily made to fit with an air grinder. The D series pistons will work, but the ZC has domed pistons for higher compression, and any other D series piston will reduce your compression. I haven't heard of a good source for these. For cams, there are a couple of companies that make them, but they are terribly expensive, I don't remember who. There is a rumor that I've heard around that the B16 cams work and give you a wild cam profile, but I haven't gotten ahold of a set to see yet. what about aftermaket D series pistons? i am a parts dealer and i can get shit for really cheap.. and i can get JE pistons for the civic SI in 11:1 and i would think that they are gonna do some sort of upgrade?
