quick Q about ignition rotor...

is it supposed to move in like 1/4 in every direction? i mean my car runs fine (well runs a lil rich and has a loud ticking *Not valves* when i'm on the throttle, no figgen clue what that is) but yeah is it supposed to be tight on the post or have some free play?????

thanks,
Jeef

Your ignition rotor should be on there tight. It is supposed to have a tiny phillips screw holding it in place.
Once it's on there tight, the amount of free play should be almost none at all.
Get a stubby phillips screw driver, and start looking for that screw!

PS-It won't be moving in any of the other directions once it's tight. Just clockwise or coutner-clockwise a tiny, microscopic amount.

it had nothing to do with the little screw... if that screw isn't in there the car won't run period... and my car run good... it just worried me that the rotor was loose like that, it was just worn out... i got a new one on and its all good now...
