Engine, transmission, ECU, suspension, & tires. After that it depends on your definition of faster, how much $ you're willing to spend, and whether you're capable of doing the work yourself, or have the $ to pay someone else to do it for you.

There are so many different options available. Dozens of different engines available. You could stick with naturally aspirated or go forced induction. You could be building the car for drag racing, road racing, SCCA, or just street driving.

Basically it's a very open ended question that you're asking.

He speaks the truth, gotta narrow it down a little more than that. The HF was built for gas mileage, great light weight chassis to start with though.

What year hf? 88 is the lightest crx you can get and the perfect candidate for an engine swap which is the only way to get power outta an hf cause the stock 8 valve motor is very low in hp, so even supping it up won't do much.

Re: how could i make my 91 crx hf faster??

Not entirely true Greg...for the 2nd generation 88 might be the lightest, but got back to the 1st gens and they are insanely light, but at the sacrifice of the suspension.

Engine swap is the way to go, but where you want to go will determine what engine to go with. The D series have a lot of potential and usually pretty cheap to come by compared to the B series engines, which are good as well, just usually more expensive.
