4.3 engine removal with manual trans???

I have a 96 sierra Z71 that has a 4.3 with a manual transmission. The motor is bad and I have a replacement from a 97 silverado that had an automatic transmission. I have replaced motors before, but never with a manual trans. How do I remove the motor? Do I have to slide the transmission back in order to get the motor out? Does the clutch stay bolted to the flywheel? do I need to swap flywheels when I get the motor out? will I need any special tools?

I have everything unplugged, and ready to unbolt the motor mounts and bell housing, then I noticed that there arent any bolts on the flywheel to remove before i pull the motor, so I thought I would ask before I go pulling on something. thanks for your help!

Shouldn't be any troubles, motors arn't different besides the flywheel.
-Unbolt the trans and clutch from the engine including the bell housing.
-Pull engine.
-Swap over the flexplate/flywheel from the old motor to the new motor.
-Drop engine in your truck.
-Hook everything up
-Done

I have the motor mounts disconnected and am unbolting the bell housing....is there anything else to unbolt before pulling the motor? When you say unbolt the transmission..do you mean from the frame so then I can push it off the motor? If so, do I also have to unbolt the transfer case and front and rear drive shafts?

Thanks for the response....sorry for all the questions! Im just a little scared ill bend/break something....if this, was an auto the motor would be out by now!

Nah I meant the trans from the engine but being you have the bell housing unbolted from the motor I'd say there isn't much left to do after that. You won't hurt anything now. Go ahead and yank it out.

You unbolted the bell housing from the motor, correct? not from the trans?
