Andy Mathews (ClearView-F1 books)

Hi!

Does anyone know what happened to Andy. A month ago I ordered a book about FW14B, but no reply at e-mails(http://www.andymathews.com/contact.php) listed on the site, could not be obtained.

He was going to put some photo etch parts together for me for the Lola T93 I was building. That was way back in January 2007. I heard nothing from him since then...

I'm in no way defending Mr Mathews but I think calling him a "Scammer" is not the correct term. To scam someone you need to be in control of ALL of your faculties. Scammer = TVF1, Andy is just a little messed up in the head and without meds he makes bad decisions. Again, I'm not defending him and I'm sorry some of you have lost money to him but I don't think he is staying up a night planning his next move like a scammer would be.

Don't want to say "I told you so" but I tried to warn people about him years ago, but no one listened.... He made his money off people, then saw something shiney to distract him, and off he went in a different direction.

What is odd is that the website is still up and running. You can still put in an order for the book. So who is paying to keep the site running? And if someone makes a payment for a book, where is that money going?

You sent a payment of $54.99 USD to Hilton Lifetime Publishing LLC

= Andy Mathews

And you are promised by the delivery in the near future, after a few months he will stop answering e-mails.

Does this sound familiar business plan?

Fun is the fact that I've bought all kinds of stuff around the world, the first times I have been fooled is when I returned to the F1 modeling .

Re: Andy Mathews (ClearView-F1 books)

I have the Williams book. It had a lot of photos of the real car and the finished model. However, he did not explain his methods of super detailing, which is what I had hoped for.

His "method" is to farm out all the work(machining, turning, P/E, etc) and then assemble when he gets them back. Simple, really.

Re: Andy Mathews (ClearView-F1 books)

Following in the vein of Lump, if you are interested in super detailing your FW-14, contact Robert over at RB motion. Many of the turned parts were done by him and about a year ago he did have a kit available. It wasn't cheap, if memory serves, it was around $500, but you won't be disappointed.
