Ford GT40 1:12 #5

Hi

This is Trumpeters GT40 in the 1:12
I decided to build the # 5 car from LeMans 1966.
The decals is and the spare wheel is from Bestbalsa kits,
and the decals was very good !
I have improved some parts and also made some detailing, mostly on the engine and the interior.

Thomas

Very nice. I must admit I don't like the colour scheme personally. The driver figure adds a lot, I like the way his hand is on the gear lever. Where did the figure come from, Tamiya?
Regards,
Steve.

Not personally fond of the color scheme but the build looks top notch. Wonderful display.

You are gonna get this a lot, I am sorry, the color is awful but the build is terrific!!! Really should have gone with another color.

Re: Ford GT40 1:12 #5

Excellent work.

The car was driven by Ronnie Bucknum and Dick Hutcherson and was owned by the Holon Moody Team. Holon still is a contract race team for Ford. One of I think six GT40's that ran that year. I just finished the book, "Go Like Hell" which is a great story on how these cars took over Ferrari in 1966 and 1967 in Lemans. Great background work done by the author with much history from Carrol Shelby and Ken Miles.

Thank you !
I'm glad for your kind words
This car had this color scheme , different opinions, I can understand it, but
I think it' s very cool !! The other race cars had some odd combinations too.
Steve, the driver is from my drivers scrapbox, Tamiya it is but from different drivers.
