A lesson learned

A year ago, my hub assembly on the front passenger side broke. I continued to drive on it unaware of the damage. My tire popped, and i threw on the spare. It popped too, and i decided to take a closer look. I replaced the hub assembly on both sides and threw an extra spare on the front passenger side because i couldnt afford the proper size tire (20 inch rims and i had a 15 inch spare). When ever i let off the gas too quickly, the car would shudder and make a weird banging noise. This went on for a month, and not knowing what it could possibly be, i took it to a mechanic. They said that the transfer case was slowly being destroyed because my truck is AWD/4WD, and so the smaller tire was spinning faster. I got a new tire, and the noise and shuddering stopped.

The lesson learned is this: When your vehicle makes a weird noise, something is probably wrong. And if you need to use a spare, dont drive on it for more than a week.
