To shield or NOT!
I recently purchased a stainless steel exhaust header for my Daughter's 97 Accord EX 2.2 VETEC. Unfortunetly, they don't have the "bosses" necessary for re-attaching the stock heat shield. Can anyone tell me if there is risk of radiant heat damage involved with driving w'out the heat shield? She won't be doing any racing, just normal driving. (I have not yet installed the headers)

Re: To shield or NOT!
You will be find without a shield. If you want to help keep heat levels down you could get some header wrap. Why are you putting a header on in the first place?

Re: To shield or NOT!
Why the header? It's kinda like pulling a string on a sweater...The muffler was shot...so was the middle pipe...the CAT didn't look very good either...so, I figured why stop there and ordered a complete system on line! Midas wanted $1200.00 to replace everything and I got stainless steel from muffler tip to exhaust manifold for LESS than $400.00.

Re: To shield or NOT!
Like I said you will be fine without a heat shield on the header.
