2004 Durango engine replace help
I ve got a 2004 Durango and need to replace the motor. I just don't see alot of room in there to get a picker. Somebody sugested to take it out the bottom I don't see that. Can anybody sheld any light on the matter. It looks like the A/C condencer has to be removed and what else befor this comes out easly. Any help would be great.

I forget which engine you have. IIRC, its the 5.7. I can look in my factory manual for you to see what it calls for. My thought is that the radiator and core support come out along with hood removal. I would think you could get it out then. Would take an awful tall lift to get it out though. Don

Don you are right it is the 5.7L I have a tall enought lift. thanks for any in sight would be of great help

Thanks for the help i've bought a used motor and got it in last sunday it up and running. That's a tight area to work in. a/c all had to be removed and the cross member with the hood latch had to come off. All and all it went pretty good. Thanks to all that helped out. P.s. The motor was build date was jan of 04. It broke the #5 rod under the wrist pin. I havn't got the heads off but all valves are still in place. Thanks Leonard |
