Keyless remote?

Hello! I have a 99 Grand Prix GT I have owned since new. I have 2 keyless remotes and the other day 1 of them quit working. I replaced the battery and held the lock and unlock buttons at the same time for 7 seconds but still not working. The 2nd remote still works fine. Is there any reason why one of the remotes would need reprogramming? I havent tried to reprogram yet. I understand I need to reprogram both if I do the process but I didnt want to try since the other one is working. Any help on this would be great! Thanks!

Re: Keyless remote?

Hello the back of the buttons (black dot) wears out with time and that's why the remote no longer works. The same thing happened to me since last november and couldn't fix it until this week thanks to another user int he forum.

You can get "carbon paste" which is sold on most electronics stores it comes in a small container like finger nail paint.

Best regards,

Oscar.
