04 suburban with 4L60-e Delayed shift into Reverse

I have a couple issues with our 04 Suburban AWD 5.3 4L60-e. It is used as both a daily driver for my wife and baby and we tow a 6000 pound camper. I have noticed recently when it is shifted into reverse it has a noticeable delay. I talked to a friend and he seems to think its getting ready to go, he knows nothing to nurse it! I also have a Traction Active sensor that comes on on acc from a stop. Bad wheel bearing? Last but not least, "service tire monitor system" message comes over dash display! It does not show me actual tire pressure in display.

Any help will be appricieated
Thanks Andy

I have found with my 4L60 e transmissions the use of synthetic fluid either dexronVI or mobil synthetic trans fluid speeds up this delay in shifting..

dexronIII is no longer used by gm..you vehicle has dexronIII in it when it was built. 2005-6 gm dumped dexron III...cost gm tooo much !

you tow heavy load therfore you must replace transmission fluid every year, especially if you operate with temps above 80-90 deg f.

drop pan clean inspect filter and if filter dirty replace..

dirty fluid, damaged fluid wears the trans, and reduces fluid pressures.

slippage results !

When was it serviced last?? Have you been servicing it every 25-30k miles like automatics need to be??

Re: 04 suburban with 4L60-e Delayed shift into Reverse

I just picked uP this suburban like 4 months ago. Like a fool I didn't change the trans filter like I probably should have and we have taken a few short 50 mile trips with out camper and we've been to ny and back once so far. If I'm not mistaken we have put about 12000 miles on it

Thanks Andy
