2005 Accord Ex 4cyl radiator replacement

I have 109,000 miles on my car. Just got back from traveling around the USA putting 15,000 miles on this trip. Car did not burn any oil.Changed the oil once on my trip. I am a big preventative maintenance nut. I just changed the serpentine belt. Spark Plugs are next. The radiator does not leak at all but I don't know what kind of life span they have. I will be going on the road again this summer and would rather make the necessary changes here in town before I leave. Any thoughts?

My '95s radiator was fine until 225,000, and that was after an accident may have jarred it on the mounts, the top tank cracked a few days later.

You asked about valves on the other post...I just adjusted them for the first time ever at 257,000...guess I'm a little late

Re: 2005 Accord Ex 4cyl radiator replacement

After doing some reading regarding radiators and different posts I think I am going to just backflush the system, add new coolant and maybe new hoses. In the Haynes manual it said to adjust valves if they were noisy. That motor runs so good and quiet I dont think I am going to touch them just yet. Did you find your valve adjustment to be necessary meaning were they tight? I bought this car with 75,000 miles on it from a guy who was a business man with mostly highway miles. The car still smelled new inside along with a super clean interior/exterior.Maybe they sell new car smell in a spray. I am repeating myself from my other post but I have had no problems with this car.
I thought about having my buddy who rebuilds alternators do anything preventative it might need and he felt that it should easily go 200,000 miles with that alternator.
At 109,000 miles it is dry as a bone underneath meaning no trace of any kind of fluid. It just looks like road dirt on the bottom of the motor.

If it hasn't had a valve adjustment now would be a good time! It's way over due. Get a valve cover gasket & new tube seals. Also you might want to consider a factory repair manual instead of that aftermarket one. www.helminc.com

As far as the radiator goes there is no need to replace unless it's leaking. I've never seen a Honda hose leak unless there is oil leaking on to it and that's usually the heater hoses. Save your money.
