2002 GT Plug Wire Suggestion
I have a 2002 GT has a stock 3800 Series II engine, 152,000 miles. I bought it at 110,000 miles.
Anyway, after searching this forum, I've concluded that the AC 41-921 plugs are a good choice as a replacement rather than the stock Iridums. I do run regular 87 octane gas, and my wife drives the car everyday for short trips "under 10 miles" I'm thinking the wires are the original and thought now would be a good time to change them, along with the plugs. Just wondering what wire would be a good choice and where is a good place to buy the suggested wires. Also, just wondering.... is there any problems that I should be aware of when it come to changing the back three plugs? Thanks for any help one will provide. |

Re: 2002 GT Plug Wire Suggestion
I recall the Delco 41-921 plugs were the OE originals from the factory. Double platinum. No longer made but maybe available as NOS. The Delco 41-101 Iridium are now the recommended replacement plugs. Also, NGK TR55IX work fine if you are stock.
On plug wires the AC Delco 7mm premium silicones are the best choice but aftermarket Taylor Spiro Pro 8mm and MSD 8mm work fine too.

And thanks for the wire recommendations. Is there any thing to be concerned about, when changing the back 3 plugs? Thanks again for your time responding. |

Re: 2002 GT Plug Wire Suggestion
On the back three plugs, a swivel headed ratchet and a wobble extension helps to get around stuff in the way, like the brackets and oxygen sensor, but you DO NOT have to pull the engine forward like many claim.

Thanks, I was wondering about some of the claims I've heard.
