I have a 2001 Impala with the 3400 engine and it needs the radiator replaced. Any idea on how easy/hard this is to do myself? any tips or suggestions are welcome. thanks guys

Re: 2001 Impala Radiator
It should be very simple actually. It has been a while since I have taken one out in one of these cars, but you will need to drain the cooling system first. Disconnect the upper and lower radiator hose. Disconnect and cap the transmission cooler lines so they do not leak all over. Disconnect the electric fans and remove them. There are two 10mm bolts, one on either side, and then the fan assembly will slide in at the bottom. Once bolts are removed, tilt the assembly back towards the engine and pull up. Then the radiator is removed in the same sense. You just need to make sure of proper disposal of old antfreeze.
