Pioneer radio install in 05 Grand Prix GT
I want to install a Pioneer AVH-P3200BT DVD player in my car. Best Buy quoted me $325 for install and that includes the harness to keep the steering wheel controls. I know ill lose the door chime, On Star, and the calendar. But the guy told me there is a possibility of losing courtesy lights and remote start. Has anyone had this happen to them? Also, I plan on installing this myself. How would I wire this all together with a plug and play harness and steering wheel control harness?
Thanks for the help |

Re: Pioneer radio install in 05 Grand Prix GT
I know on these cars, the radio is part of the Data link system, and has to be retained (usually by installing a relocation wiring kit placing the OEM radio in the trunk) for certain diagnostic functions.

Re: Pioneer radio install in 05 Grand Prix GT
Who makes the wiring kit and where can I get one? Do I have to still get the steering wheel wiring harness too if I want to keep the steering controls? If I do will that wire into the reclocation harness?

Try Crutchfield, it is one of the best places to get the parts to install aftermarket radios and have the car functions work properly.
