Here's a little trick - using poster tack to hold parts while the glue dries. This license plate has a little bracket behind it, right in the center. That's where the glue is, so I left some space between the bracket and the poster tack, so the glue doesn't grab the poster tak. When the glue is dry, it's easy to pull the PT away from the joint.

I use the yellow Poster Tak from Michaels.

It's also useful for masking, especially when the area to be masked is a cavity like a headlight bucket. You just stuff it into the area to be masked.

Hopefully, the '40 Ford will be complete very, very soon.

The white roll below on the right is double-sided carpet tape. I use it for lots of things, but mostly to attach parts to cardboard strips while they're being painted. It's easier than making loops of masking tape. And stronger. (There's nothing quite like the feeling when a freshly painted part drops onto the floor.)

The furry rolls on the left are paint rollers. I've tied two of them together to form a "soft stand." I put models' bodies (I wish!) and other delicate parts on it to keep them from being damaged.
