Plenum Air Leak?

Having not found any vacuum leaks, I now suspect an air leak in the intake plenum, which would possibly account for my "bank one lean" and "bank two lean", error message.

What I'm thinking about doing is to remove the plennum again and run a small bead of ATV silicone adhesive around the mating surfaces.

My question; Is there any good reason why I should NOT do this?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Plenum Air Leak?

You MUST use a sealant that is "sensor safe".
Also, there are many different kinds.....use one that you will be able to remove the part later.
Also......do not use very much.....just a little.
Has the TSB for the intake bolts been done?

The gaskets for the upper intake are actually very good.....so there should be no need to coat them with anything, but if you use the correct "sensor safe" sealant that you will be able to later remove the part.....and don't put too much so that it gets all over the place, you should be OK.

WisWind, Thanks for the "sensor-safe" reminder! I completely forgot about that one!
