Jimmy problems

Okay, so I've got a 93 Jimmy and an '89 Blazer. Both Automatics, I'm trying to get the Jimmy running right so it can be inspected so I can use it. The Blazer I plan on fixing later, since it's third gear is shot. When I got the Jimmy, the wipers were unplugged because they wouldn't stop when the thing was turned on. I got it running which is better than what it was when I got it, and then tried to get this problem fixed(because, if the truck won't run, why should I give priority to the windshield wipers?). The wiper/washer switch would not "click" when turned, so I looked into replacing it. One problem, every car parts store I went to had none in stock and when they contacted the manufacturer they said the part was obsolete. They offered no alternative. So I tried replacing the wiper/washer switch with the Blazer, which I knew worked. Long story short, after widening the holes in the Blazer's wiper/washer switch, it kind of works. As in, sometimes is shuts off and sometimes it doesn't. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement for a wiper/washer switch that is tilt, without cruise control on it? Could it also be a faulty wiper motor?

If wiper motor is good most wiper turning on and off prolems is a a bad solder joint in the pulse board.
Does it have intermendit wipers or regular?

Re: Jimmy problems

For a switch.
Have you tried the GM dealer or a known good parts place?

Re: Jimmy problems

let's see, it's got regular wipers. I've only tried the major auto parts stores around town, haven't tried the GM dealer. Also, how can I check to see if the wiper motor is good? The Autozone I went to both said none of the stores around town had it and they couldn't order it for some reason.

Did you say some times it runs and does not shut off.
If motor runs then the motor is not bad but could be a problem with the park circuit.

If AZ or other parts places can not or will not get it the go to Gm parts dealer with you vin no and see if they can get it.

Re: Jimmy problems

To test for wiper runs but.
Will not shut off.
Unplug wiper motor .
Connect a fused jumper between Orange and Gray wire terminals of wiper motor connector .
Connect a fused jumper wire from Battery poitive to White wire terminal of wiper motor.

If wiper motor parks and turns off Replace wiper switch.

If motor does not turn off replace delay module or wiper motor.
If not intermident or delay wipers then get another motor.
