2008 Impala throwing P0340 code

I have a 2008 Impala with the 3.9L engine. The car has ~51,000 miles. Tonight, the check engine light came on, and the OBD scanner is showing a P0340, Cam Position Sensor A Bank 1 Ckt Malfunction.

Where should I begin with this?

Thanks!

1) Reset & clear code
2) Monitor
3) Also look at Similar threads at the bottom of yours.

Doe's Ice, snow, rain, or a car wash play a factor?

Re: 2008 Impala throwing P0340 code

At this point I'm not sure what may or may not cause problems. The light just came on yesterday. Can you tell me where this sensor is on this car? I want to start tracing circuits, etc.

Thank You.
