Help finding a wheel set that matches or comes very close - WRX

Hey all,

Waiting on my Aoshima 2007 STI kits to come in so I can do my Ken Block build and my WRX build. Got what I need for the Block build - decals and Volks.

For the WRX I need some wheels that look like these:
http://www.wheeldude.com/catalog/pro...oducts_id=6295

I already have these:
http://www.hlj.com/product/FUJ19280

If you look at the real wheel though it has spokes that arch out past the face a bit. The Sportec Monos are recessed and flat. I would rather not mod 40 spokes.

If anyone can help with this I would appreciate it.

Thanks.

Ok, are there any Aoshima or Fujimi kits that have these wheels in them?

Since I cannot find them anywhere on the net I will try for kits.

As I am not a drift kit buyer I am not sure of the wheel options in most of the Aoshima/Fujimi kits.

I ended up just ordering one of these kits. I will sell the kit maybe? I guess $36 dollars for a set of wheels isn't too much, lol.

Keep in mind Rota wheels are always knock-offs of other companies. The Advan RS is what they are. I would think your only concern would be the scale wheel size as the Aoshima is supposed to be a scale 19".

If you're looking to sell the kit (w/o wheels) later I may consider taking it off your hands.

I know they are knock-offs, but in the scheme of things I am not too worried. Spending $2000 on Rota's and some good rubber is a lot easier to deal with than $3000, lol.

But yes, I know they are knock-offs. At least my model will have real Advans!!!

You want the model it is yours, let me know. I literally would never build it. Good looking model, but not my speed.

As for being 19's, well, what can you do. If I could I would buy the 19's for the WRX, but that is a lot of wheel for a WRX.

Re: Help finding a wheel set that matches or comes very close - WRX

Hi Enzoenvy1,
The wheels you wanted, (Advan RS 19") i've spend almost 2 months looking for it without success as they have long been discontinued...But luckily, i posted a message on the for sale/ wanted section here and a fellow automotive user manage to have a spare set, so i purchased them off him. I MUST be a lucky guy
Actually, not rubbing any salt on your wounds, they've arrived today and I am looking at them right now
Onto new business, these wheels from scaleproduction seems to be exact replica of the Advan RS, but i am not sure if they are 18" or 19"
http://www.scaleproduction.de/produc...ec-Mono10.html

Hope the link helps you out.

Thanks Gordon for the info. I did look at your thread the other day.

I figure if they are that hard to find and are in a kit I might as well snag a kit. Wheels with shipping would have been around $20-$25. I paid $36 for a kit that I will hopefully sell. Either way, I snagged a set of discontinued wheels, lol.

I am stoked!!!

To enzoenvy1, I am glad you manage to find a kit that contains those wheels. Next time i might need to look harder cos i didnt no the wheels comes in a kit format, always thought it was the wheels itself...
Have fun building the WRX! Looking forward to see the end result!
