pass-lock work=-
steering column work . security light was constant. car refused to start once. btw =no relation to the pass-lock,but the turn signal switch was also malfunctioning. rear brake lights were not illuminating. symtomatic of turn signal switch failure. good time to replace it also !
new ignition cylinder from napa. new turn signal switch that sits inside of steering column from auto zone. the code for the new key was"8" =2370 resistance.mechanic tested at foot of column and got 2360. when he pulled the cylinder you could see one of the small white wires parted. after the installation the security light was still on. he re-set it by turnung the key to the "on"position for 10 minutes. now all is well. thanks to the guys on this forum for the as always good advice . jamesmetairie |
