OEM - 6 1/2" rear speakers, but you could pretty much fit any thing you wanted to. 6"x9" possibly? Check with Crutchfield.com they have a great selection & are great to deal with. Not to mention they give all brackets or adapters for free.

I will speak from experience and opinion... hehehehe

If you have subs 1 or 2 then dont get 6x9's. Really 6x9's are intended to give out a bit more bass and are for systems without subs. Personally I hate 6x9's.... I much prefer 6.5' splits. I have alpine type r's and i can tell you they are crystal clear and bloody awesome. If not alpine you could go for boston.

If you really want 6x9's then go for a good brand like better then pioneer. you WILL notice the difference. Something like the alpines, blaupunk or Rockford Fosgates are good.

Really its up to you on how much you want to spend, how loud you want it to be and the type of sound you want it to produce.

Do it right the first time. Buy quality,

I have JL 6 1/2" and let me tell you clearest sounding speaker I've ever heard (beside's focal). I highly suggest these.

here is my setup, i have 2 alpin 5 1/2 in the front, to power acoustic NB1 tweeters in the front, to pioneer 6 x 9 in the back with 2 10' explodes in banpass box powered by i think a 250 watt alpine v12 amp, and those 10s in that box make it sound like 2 12. I strongly reccommend those tweeters, they produce thathigh pitch sound like no other tweets i have ever heard

Re: Speakers in back of CRX

lol this is an old topic! but now i changed my mind, i'm just gonna get 6x9's. Will they fit perfectly? If not, then i'll get 6.5's. I don't want subs any more, i rather save weight.

i like polk/momo personally.
if i can im gonna get 6 1/2" components up front and regular 6 1/2"s in the back. Im gettin an audiobahn intake amp for the components and then i want to try and get 2 polk momo 15" subs with an intake amp also.
I tried em all out at circuit city and they rock like nething.

Re: Speakers in back of CRX

hmmmmn im running kicker 6.5 components up front, the magnets on those things are huge so i had to modify the speaker braket. in the rear im runnin concept 6x9's. front and rear are on an eq so i can dial down the low bass to them, both sets are powered by a kicker 400w 4 channel. i have a single 10" concept in a ported box. its powered by a 800 watt kicker. i origionally wanted 2 12's but when i heard this 10 i decided to go with it. the system sounds pretty good. and its not too bad being i only spent 800 on it all.
