Revell National Model Car Championship

I`ve been waiting for this subject to come up, and haven`t seen anyone else mention this.
IMO, this is huge deal, and will allow for great exposure to the hobby:

"Together with GearZ, Illinois-based Revell Inc. **will conduct the inaugural Revell/GearZ National Model Car Championships. With the help of some 2,000 hobby shops and retailers, participants will be able to enter online or go to their local hobby shop to pick up an entry form and mail in photos of their models."

For now, it is only for people in the states, and for hot rod kits only, but who knows what the future will bring if it is successful.

Already been mentioned twice. Search the forum. Revell site does now have the model kits that are included in this contest as well as the rules.

Geez...I didn`t even look at that one. Figured it could have been "M33T LOCAL SINGLES....." or "NATURAL 3NHANCEMENT ...." for all I know.

Ok, so we have a thread with a vague title, and a thread from over a month ago that died in less than 24 hours because nothing was posted on Revell or gearz` webpage. The competition is open to entries in less than 2 weeks, and the rules are now posted. Can we now stop with the "there is already a thread on this, yada, yada...." banter and allow on topic discussion? This is huge for our hobby. To my knowledge, there has not been a national contest in which the winner`s work will be televised on national TV. IMO, All the discussions we`ve had over the past decade here about how to get our hobby serious exposure and ensure a bright future for it could culminate in something like this!
