Snow cables vs snow chains

Alright fellas, I am going up to the snow next weekend and will be needing snow cables/chains for a Nissan Sentra as there will be snow and possibly ice (!?!) on the road. Two questions:

1 - which one would you recommend: snow cables or snow chains?
2 - any particular brand? Or will any brand from say Kragen do?]

Thanks in advance.

Cables are much gentler, chains generally beat the heck out of things and you have to drive pretty well. Look for the cross pattern cables that zig zag across the tires, they have the smoothest ride and offer excellent grip.
