How do I engage 4WD on my Tracker ?

I just took my 92 GEO Tracker out of a 9 year hibernation in my garage and am not quite sure if I remember how to engage the 4WD mode.
If memory serves me, you put he shifter in neutral, lock the hubs, put the shifter in 4H, and then back up a few feet to engage the gears.
Is this the correct sequence ?
If not, can you tell me what is ?

Thanks.

jes

On my 95 Tracker you just locked the front hubs, shifted to 4H and that was all it took, no backing up.
