'02 MY Taurus Strange Electrical Issues

Greetings,
My son's '02 MY Taurus (3.0 L OHV) had some strange electrical issues happening; namely, certain portions of the dash board going black along with the engine just shutting down while idling at a light or stop sign. He could generally restart the vehicle but this condition got progressively worse. I noted the AF Taurus Moderator stating that this is a common problem with a defective Transmission Range Sensor (TRS) on this model year Taursus vehicle. Therefore, I changed the TRS and the issue was resolved. I want to thank the AF Taurus Moderator for his helpful suggestion!

Sincerely,

ZarksterGreen
