Been working on the Caprice lately (pics)

Been trying to get this thing buttoned up for awhile...it's going to the upholstery guy right after Christmas for a new vinyl top and headliner then as soon as the chrome guy gets me my rockers, Landau and wheel well moldings it'll be ready to hit the streets.

When I first got it:

Pulled the motor and trans (350, 200r4)

Cleaned up the engine compartment & redid front suspension:

350 turned into a 383 and the 200r4 was swapped out for a 700r4:

Hedman Hedders:

Duals w/ 3 chamber Flomasters:

Trani guy boasted how the trani would handle 400 lb's of torque...apparently not:

Don't get to see this angle too often:

Time to paint this thing like it was 1987 again:

Lookin' like maroon from the factory but with some nice metal flake:

Where's all my chrome?

Putting it all back together:

Clean spare, dirty trunk:

Top secret Landau option:

I really like the candy! Nice choice. Just enough metal in it to make it jump, but not over the top.

Looks like someone has been very busy. Too bad about the trans, but that will only happen once.

And thank you for spelling "Hedder" correctly - Good call on the coating.

How are the La-Z-Boys looking? I think I see a set of bare seat frames in one of those photos. New naugas?

I'll try to find the part number, I've got it in the garage in a binder I think. Don't remember the price, but I remember they were "the expensive ones" due to the ceramic coating, which is well worth it I say.

Wow, looks great! I wish my '85 was anywhere near that pretty. Mine has more holes now than body panels.
