HID Kits & Cops

Has anyone had a ticket for having aftermarket HID kits in their car? I'd like to get some but am worried that I might get a ticket.

Thanks,
M

it all depends on color. if you get blue or purple then you'll get hassled. otherwise it's all good

btw which kit are you getting?

Thanks for the reply. I'm looking at the Catz H4 4100K high/low beam kit. So the glare isn't too bad?

np. i've heard nothing but good stuff about catz. 4100 will get you nearest to pure white light, so you won't be getting stop for color

If HID was illegal car would not come from the factory with them. How about some Zenon lights?

xenon's are total crap. if you really want a bright white light, you should get silverstars or do a lightbulb conversion.

^ i know it's a bmw site but it used the same headlights as hondas

I meant Xenon ---- nothing compares to Xenon. Go test drive a new BMW or Benz with them, then an acura with the crappy wanna-be lighting

Its been on the 5 series & 7 series since 98 or 99, maybe earlier. They had when I worked there & beat the shit out 'em every day. Man I miss that job nothing is better than missing 3rd gear in a M3/M5 with only 25 miles on it:finger: OOPS. Also broke a few shift knobs of the Z3's piece of junk plastic, all shifting with a 2" stub

well i stand corrected. thought those were regular halogen because of it's slight yellowish color. i've had xenon's in my car once and the bulb burnt out after 3 months and the color was a little too blue, that's why i'm a little hesitant about them.

i'm going to get 9005 cool blues from sylvania and convert them to 9006's

i was going to choose between a beemer and a teg. the teg won cause i didn't know how to drive a stick

xenon gas is suppose to make the bulbs brighter, but it's hardly noticeable
