Unforunate Snow Accident, PLEASE HELP.

i was driving home last night and the weather was really bad.. cars sliding everywhere. I had to swerve really quicly and i did a 360 and i slammed into the cub with my back left wheel and it hopped over the curb onto the grass. I managed to get it off the road and it still drives fine but my ABS brake light is on and my wheel is completeley bent outwards and the tire is popped. my brakes are fine and so is my suspension but my wheel is screwed. checked the others and theyw ere all fine.

here is a pic...

I got the car towed to my mechanic but he cant look at it until tomorrow. any ideas on whats the wrong or the price to fix it?

Re: Unforunate Snow Accident, PLEASE HELP.

Sorry to hear about your mishap. It's hard to diagnosis from your description and that picture, but I'll take a stab at it. The abs light is on because you no doubt destroyed the wheel/bearing/hub assembly. You can usually get one of those new for around $100. Your bigger problem is that MUST have bent the rear axle assembly. You can get those new for around $800. They should be available used for much cheaper. Add another $100 or so for miscellaneous parts and you are looking at about 1000 in parts if you can do it yourself. I have no idea what shops charge for things as I do everything myself, but I'd take a wild guess and say they'd charge you about 1600 if they use new parts and 1200 if they can find a cheap used axle assembly, and $1000 if an auto insurance company was paying the bill. Add $200 if you screwed up the aluminum wheel, which is a good bet. That's my somewhat educated guess. Let us know what it ends up costing you.
