91 Dakota starts but quits, won't start until cool
It starts fine, but quits after about 1 to 2 minutes. And it won't start again until about 30 minutes later. There seems to be no stalling when it quits. And pressing the gas pedal doesn't seem to make a difference either. This problem is very repeatable.
I use this truck to plow snow off the road I live on. And snow is coming. Please help. Since I use this truck for snow plowing only, I don't use it all summer except to start it a few times and exercise it a little. Not sure if letting the gas just sit without additives had caused a problem. On the other hand, I have been treating the truck the same way for the past couple of years without any such starting problem. Besides, the way it quits without stalling may not be pointing to a gas-related problem? |

Sounds like a fuel problem!
Change fuel filter, and check fuel pressure. Aso make sure, the catalytic converter isn't plugged. A plugged cat can actually choke an engine out. |
