Parts-van cross-year compatibility

(apologies, yet there's just too much traffic over here to not post in here...)

I've got an '00 Silhouette, and have an opportunity to pick up a '97 Silhouette parts-van. Similar enough in paint, interior, and condition, to justify the looking into. If not this one, then there will be another one, so might as well start researching now. This gen of the Silhouette/Venture is '96-'97 to '04-'05.

Are there any significant differences between model years, that would limit cross-year compatibility, in guiding model year purchases?

IIRC, they changed transmissions in 99, engines in 00. Altho I put a 00+ engine in my 97...... PCM's, and electronics are different starting late 99 IIRC......

Any thoughs on if the Body Control Module (BCM) from a '99 will work on an '00? Thx.
